We do not use only the 10% of our brain

According to this article published today at the BBC newspaper, the fact that we only use the 10% of our brain is just a MITH. Please if you have the chance read the whole article. I do like the end...,people get dissapointed when they find out that the 10% thing is not true.

Thesis writing in progress

Hey there,

Definitely, I am not a trustworthy person. I should have been updating this blog more often and I didn't do it, my fault and  my apologies to all the blog followers, if any. I've got excuses, a few of them. I don't have the time, the thesis is consuming all my precious time and I am getting crazy with all this thing.Arrgggg. Well, being everyday closer I just hope to be done by the end of the year....Pleaseeee. I plan to write all the weekend long, because I will be busy during the week trying to finish the last experiments.
Also, I've got some good news. My fifth paper has just been published. It is about exosomes and it includes most of the work I performed in NY last year. It is great to see the results, and it encourages myself to keep enjoying science, because yes, I do like science... what I am gonna do??!!!

I am back!

Hello everybody! It's been a long time without updating my blog and from now on I am willing to keep it updated.

Just a quick reminder about what I am up to:

I just moved back to Madrid in order to finish my PhD studies. It is gonna be a tough year I guess but I have to be constant and think of the reward. Once I get my phD done I will be a free spirit, a free bird!

I should stop changing my mind so often

Why do I wake up thinking one thing and the next day I think another one?. I don't know..., but these constant changes are driving me crazy!!. So please, make up your mind and keep the decision at least for a while, and see how it goes..., please!.

This is a personal piece of advice for me to follow, jeje.

Security or uncertainty?

Life as a scientist is quite uncertain and it make me think if I should consider other means for a living.

WHEN WORDS DON'T COME EASY

Language is a particular kind of system for encoding and decoding information. It's the way to express our thoughts and feelings, the powerful tool we've got to became real personalities and to show our fellow men what we think at any single second of our lifes. But, sometimes, when reality is hard to face up, words tend to be inside us, hidden from the other's. This usually happens when we are afraid of the truth, afraid of what people would think and afraid of the consequences if the truth was known.

My intention with this reflexive entry is 1) to encourage everybody to be honest with themselves, not hiding thoughts or feelings if they are actual ones and 2) to encourage myself to put into practice my own advices.

As human beings our worries should be always sorted out..., don't you think?

My chromosomes

Once upon a time, when I was a student at the Uni of Valencia I isolated DNA from my own epitelial cells. It was a great experience with an amazing result (see the picture below).
